We had 33 Registered Pilots who came out under
awful conditions (5" of rain in 2 Days) and flew. The pit area was the pits
(soggy & wet) very confined. The 10-15 MPH shifting wind, well if we hadn't had a
North South and East West runway, flying would have been almost impossible. And thanks to
Keith Wilson of Wilson R/C Hobbies from Kennett Mo.,Tommy Sharp Of R/C Hobbies in
Jonesboro AR and the Brooklyn R/C Club for the many nice donated items.
In our Feature events, we did have Combat, 3
Roops and Carrier Landing Fun-Fly Events, which went well. The 3 Fisketeers
(G-Father, Son, G-son) Desmon, John, Brian Fisk from Sikestons SEMO Club did a excellent
job performing formation flying with their Hog Bipes. Zac Urhahn 10 Yrs old From
Sikeston was the youngest pilot and flew very well. Gary Steward put on a excellent show
with his helicopter. And Yes, Snoopy and his Dog House made their appearance and
flew.
In open flying which was pretty much all day most all
pilots performed and did some excellent flying. The Bar-B-Q by Danny Elders Championship
Bar-B-Q was excellent, I even saw Tom Boulnois of Sikeston's Semo Club buying some to take
home and we all know how good his BBQ and fish taste.
We had a distinguished Guest Ron Stanfield from
Maumelle AR, AMA Associate V.P of District 8 was present and did a lot of flying.
"Thks Ron we needed to see someone from AMA at one of our Local/Regional
(ARK-MO-KY-IL-TN) events".
We are looking forward to seeing you all at out
next Fun-Fly next Spring, Schedule right now is for the 1st Sunday in June. And our Model
Judging and Swap Meet the last Sunday of February or March (Date not set Yet).
Thanks again to all who attended and those of
you who tried to Come out under the conditions and forecast and supported us,
